PZI INSULIN SOURCES in the US and Canada:

Please be aware that many small compounding pharmacys make PZI with a human recombinant base, instead of with a beef or beef/pork base.  That is not a proper insulin for cats, and you need to ask your vet or the pharmacy what the insulin is that you have been given.  The companies below are the most reliable sources of PZI insulin for cats.

PROZINC Insulin
Replacement for PZI VET. SO far we have heard very good reports and Dr. Hodgkins agrees it is worth testing further. Be careful with intial dose and once dsetermined follow standard TR proceduire.
